As I do not use zoom could you use Discord, Whatsapp or messenger ?

The discussion was about the following : A TUG moves forward, shifts 1/2 a base to avoid a friendly unit and the player wanted to shift a whole line of immobile infantry as well so as to make space .

Not being in a melee situation and conforming it seemed illegal .

I seem to remember it might have been possible years agon in another beta version so I'll admit I hesitate .

I found nothing in the rules to allow this

So what's the right answer ?

the source of discussion is the "as if" 

If a legal keil formation is flank charged, the charger does not get the +4, nor the subsequent +2 for being in the flank . That's easy

Now the file fight with one base "as if" facing the charger one rank deep .

A lone pike rank cancels mounted CL, LS,SSP and DC .

So we got 2 readings

"As If" means it will cancel it as itas the pike base is considered facing the mounted

"As if" does not cancel it 

What is the right solution ?

The most funny part is that I never wrote that the skirmishing ability was correct cost and the other a bit underpowered

If I understand it I would disagree . I often managed to slow down opponents and tribal is the most easy with one skirmishing TUG . Last tournament I played I used some formed loose AV protected unskilled javelin combat shy, 4 bases . They helped a lot even vs DC and CL . A game might be 5-8 turns ...so slowing your oppoent for 3 turns is always a benefit .

So different point of view 

Some mounted CAV are formed, loose, average , protected ,SSP . The basic cost is 90 points.
Others mounted cAV are formed, loose, average, protected, SSP and unskilled javelin . The cost is 95 points

If you look at it, the difference in points is low.

But the duifference in capacity is huge

One cannot skirmish/run away and the other can do it

So oe cannot avoid charges, even by nellies, cataphracts, or avoid flank charges, while the other can and so function as a delaying unit with some efficiency and so is much more capable on terrain.

I can accept it but much prefer the 2016 situation when "unskilled javelin"was n ot that common . Howeverthe current situation allows many armies to use one or two TUGs as delayers while impossible for others for a mere 5 points more to pay .

So do you feel it balanced or unbalanced ?

My feeling is that the ability to skirmish makes it unbalanced

Harmonise based on CL or DC ?

OK it made me think and who knows someone might read my post and explain the logic :

- CL do have forced charges ( I know not vs nellies, in terrain ...but let us KISS it for now )
- CL charge only shooter do have forced charges
- CL with unskilled or better bow, crossbow, javelins  do not have forced charges,nor free charges so must pay for the charges
- DC do have forced charges
- DC charge only shooter do have forced charges
- DC with unskilled oe better bow,crossbow,javelins do not have forced charges but do get free charges

Somewhere I fail to see the logic of the difference between CL and DC when they do shoot and it is not charge only ?

Looking at the flow chart and thinking about the "simplicity" of the rules

I would point out a slight mistake . Missile focused DC never do have forced charges . It's FREE CHARGE . The big difference with CL

A unit is hit by a rear charges .

2 files are impacted

The unlucky player wants to conform and by doing so reduce the impact to one file

May he so reduce the charge from 2 files to one file only ?

If the generals from an army may be " any" and the CIC is chosen as professionnal, the internal allies should be professionnals as well or my they be "instinctive"
