At RJC's request - the wording of the Pavise characteristic reads that for charge melee it would also apply if charged in the flank/rear (for those it counts against).

Doesn't seem right.

I would hope that we would all agree that pavise does not count in flank or rear.  I can't imagine anyone I know arguing different in a game.

Which is nice, however, not what the rules say (IMO) - so a player would be perfectly within their rights to insist on playing as written.

Assuming that it is not intentional (as we'd expect) a small change can avoid issues.

However Shield Cover does count all round, even when moving at full speed.......

Even a good sized shield is handier to position than a pavise which is enough to act as a barricade in (some) melee IMO - plus you are slowed by 1 BW IIRC so not full speed. I'm more comfortable with shield cover as is than the pavise in melee thing.

Its the only way to be Nik. If someone needs to win that bad I'd let them have it tbh.
