Shower shooting question

I understand the concept but if a unit has shower shooting, let us say a mounted loose bow TUG, if charged MUST it use shower shooting and so forfeit skirmishing or may is use shower shooting

My reading is it must use shower shooting and so all units with that characteristic may never skirmish whatever happens

The rules say that if a unit has the Shower Shooting characteristic it can never Skirmish; but if Loose it can choose to Run Away but does not cause extra Slows on an S if it does Run Away.

All pretty clear IMO, but if there is something in the rules wording you think is unclear let us know.

Let me say : I read it correctly but some people sometimes do have another interpretation. So closing doors to wishfullthinking

For info : during BRULIB a player had units with Shower Shoting. It proved quite unusefull . Also most of the players also thought that shower shooting was "optional" so you could choose to shower shoot or skirmish  So the difference between what you think people will read and understand and what they read and understand . It is an eternal challenge
