PDF version pg 69 5.M.5 : shooting at chargers is deemed to be at 1 BW for working out shooting claims

Let us be nasty

What happens if  there is a cover closer to the shooter ( half a BW , even 0,9 BW ) . the charging unit will be technically "in cover" as the shooting is deemed to happen when the charging unit is still in cover at 1 BW and not within one BW !

Cheesy , misdeployment of the shooters, but is it the spirit of the rule

Glactophagos

Ow, cheesy indeed! But is it cheddar, RJC? Your opinion is asked.
Let's fight on the table, not on the forum.

Counts as cover, why wouldn't it? Seen it happen a few times.

In fact it seems sensible and realistic (if I understood the question). If as shooters you stand too close to cover then the enemy can burst out before you can shoot at best effect. Stand a bit further back from the terrain and you get a decent shot as they come out into the open. Sounds historical doesn't it?

nikgaukroger

Quite. I'm a bit puzzled that it could be seen a cheesy.

I ask the question because it may seem cheesy to some players . Many put some shooters near the edge of a cover and forget the rule that shooting is deemed to happen at 1 MU and not within 1 MU

I was pretty sure of the answer but having it written is always good as we not have a Nik or a RJC next to us
