Meg looks like a lot of fun so I bought a copy of the Maximus and Magna rules. The rules do not have a section on Base sizes or troops per base. I did a little searching, and I found some information. But before I glue figures to bases I want to be sure.
Inf.-40mmX 20mm, 2 figures for skirmisher, 3 for loose order, and 4 for close.
Cav.-40x 30mm, 2 figures for Light, 3 for medium, and four for heavy.
Thank you in Advance, Phil.

yes but, it is not super complusary.
close order cav and infantry can be based in 3's, just tell your opponent they are. some miniatures are to large to be based in 4's
my chariots are based 40mm front and 45 mm deep, it is more convenient to base them like this and does not change a thing while playing
