Burgundian mix foot units

Hi all


I was interested in the Burgundian mix foot units

As i understand you get units of 4x pike and 4x pbow bases

so can i deploy them

A. pike.  -pike  -pike   -pike
     pbow-pbow-pbow-pbow

B. pike-pbow-pike-pbow
     pike-pbow-pike-pbow

C. pbow-pike-pbow
     pbow-pike-pbow
                pike
                pike

or all of the above

Any of the above, although 2 ranks of Pike with 2 ranks of Powerbow behind is what I would expect to see.  (Note:  Powerbow can shoot from the 3rd and 4th ranks).   The pike in front cancel CL charges and give you a combat claim in melee if in 2 ranks.

It is not a particularly effective formation as it was experimental.  Some authors have suggested it was a forerunner of later pike and shot formations, although if it was it was about 130 years ahead of its time!
