Advice on basing Persian Sparabara & Immortals
« on: June 15, 2022, 09:33:12 AM »
Hi all,

Just starting my first ancient army and my MeG journey. I've chosen a 15mm Persian army and would appreciate some advice on how to base the Sparabara. I note that on the army list, the front rank is 'formed flexible' and the rear is 'formed loose' and that they are armed with a bow.

Question 1: Does this mean that the front rank should be four models to a base and the rear rank three models to a base?

Question 2: I have models with both spears and bows. It doesn't bother me if I don't use the spears, but I'd like to understand what the majority would do here? Stick to just models with bows? Is this historically accurate?

I would also appreciate your thoughts on the above questions for Immortals, which are 'drilled flexible' and 'drilled loose' respectively.

Thank you very much :)
