Looking ahead - artillery points cost

One thing I would like to see is more artillery in the games.  If you look at historical Medieval armies they generally took artillery if they could.

At present artillery (with the exception of artillery in war wagons or with infantry) is generally too expensive points wise to make it worth taking.  A 2023 list change might well be to reduce the points cost for artillery SuGs.  There lack of mobility means I cannot see artillery suddenly dominating games but I think it would be good to see a bit more of it.

I stress again, I don't see any need to change the points for legionary bolt shooters or Hussite war wagons with artillery.

small adjustment downwards to cost is a good idea

personally, remove the restriction to deploy light artillery first in deployment sequence , keep it for heavy guns. If legionary, Korean light artillery while with foot and Hussite artillery wagons have no restrictions on deployment, no reason independent lights guns shouldn't have the same flexibility, assuming they ditch their barricades of course.

would make them far more attractive rather than just points cost.

I often downgrade my artillery to poor to save points

I will admitt that ART seems too expensive and I never saw it on table .

Tend to agree, although I sometimes use artillery as it is.

First off— yay! I've always wanted an excuse to try using a small battery of artillery, but I've never been able to fit them in my "fun add-ons" budget! :)

I can't speak to legionary-towed bolt shooters or Hussite cannon wagons, but I've found Joseon integrated artillery to be pretty ineffective for its costs— regrettably to the point that I've retired mine completely.

Before taking my specific case too seriously, though, it might be a good idea to check in with some Rome and Ming players— at your discretion, and if you haven't already.
The Joseon case may be exacerbated by their infantry usually being dead meat when caught in the open, and the Roman case may be bolstered by being able to shoot at full effect from behind shield cover.

(Worse comes to worse, I can at least try using my hwacha models as an Artillery SUG in the future!)

That's a very good point

Would the answer be a different cost ?( and a new excel sheet )

The points system within the existing spreadsheet can cope with different points for Artillery SuGs as opposed to infantry or battle wagons with artillery.
No change before 2023.

Welle excel isnot my strongh point

I would not change points for ART mixed with TUGs, warwagons and others but we might try for "normal ART" deployed as a distinct SUG.

I do not use ART because it is too costly and rather immobile .On the battlefield it is easely avoided unless you take a lot of them such as in hussite army I saw at Athens in november.
