A unit breaks his opponent that fought in 2 directions . It may either not pursue or pursue straight forward ! what happen sif in the way you have a new target that skirmishes or flees in another direction ? may you try to catch it or must you go straight forward even if that means your flank might be threatened ?

You pursue straight ahead. There is nothing in the pursuit rules that allows you to change direction to follow new enemy you meet that run away/skirmish.
