After summing up the skulls, wounds and S results do you compare it to the target width before or after shooting.  We had a case of a unit starting with three base widths but loosing one base width to shooting and the sum was 2.

Must confess to never having thought about it and always applied it to the width before shooting.

However, I note that on page 86 in the detailed turn sequence remove casualties comes before marking of slowing effects - SP3.1, 1.1 and 1.2.

I also note that the references to 9.6 H and 9.6 G should be 9.6 I and 9.6 H  :(

I would say that you must take into account the unit as a whole as before firing and after that implement the slowing effects .

A bit the same as when a unit routs, you take the casualties but you test all units with 3 MU of the router as it was before routing .

Before.

Casualty removal after the roll - all effects simultaneous.
But I can see why you ask.
