I was once stuck in France over a 2 month summer break.  Wife working and away.

I an a campaign for two friends in the UK.
They gave me all their map moves.
I fought out any battles and report back.

Strikes me that this may be easier than remote play.
Set up a campaign with nations using the Mortem et Gloriam campaign system.
Run it in Pacto so games are quick.
6 players say on an island.
Simple values for each territory.
Players can WA each other as much as they like to form alliances and make plans.

I did a 6 nation isle campaign with a sort of 3x2 layout.
Each army had the style of a classic army, started with basic troop types and expanded up from there.
Allied grey areas existed where troops could be recruited.
From memory they were:

Horse archers swarm - based on Skythians to Huns to Mongols
Long Spear - based on greeks to Macedonians to Seleucids
Romesque - base on mid-Republican onwards
Charioteers - OKE to NKE to Assyrian to Persian with cavalry gradually taking over form chariots
Barbarian - Gauls and Britains to Spanish to Galatians
Cavalry - Sarmatians to Goths to Alans to byzantines

Map turns were Qs.
Developments were random with a boost if you invested in universities.

I still have all the files if anyone wants them.
I rathe map on powerpoint just moving markers as needed.
Armies on AB.
One spreadsheet for areas and money.
Money looked at once a year only.

Feels like it could be a great isolation event.
If I had time I would do it.

If anyone is prepared to do one I am in for one fo the 6.
