Folks in the Austin/Texas area (and anyone else who may be interested)...

Since the GM registration for MillenniumCon just opened up is anyone planning to organize games or an open gaming room like last year?  If not, let me know and I'll step up and organize it or help out if someone else has the ball.

At least four of us from the Dallas area plan to attend and bring our Late Achaemenid Persians, Lusitanians, Western Han, Romano-brits, early Russian, Mongol, Goguryo Korean, Norman, Crusader and Syrian State armies.

It is a great event I might be able to make it

I am planning a trip home to New York for Thanksgiving this year, so it does not look good, but if there is any way I can go I will. Could couch surfing and rides to/from the airport be arranged to cut down on costs? I'll loot to see what airfare looks like.

My sister and niece live in the Austin /Marble Falls area, so I might try to convince, she who must be obeyed, to take a trip south in November.  Never played a game of MeG. but would love to learn by playing.

I plan on attending [driving down from KC].  Will combine with a visit to my sister in Marble Falls.  I assume it will be 10,000 pts.  I have not played a full game yet, so apologies in advance for my 'greenness'.

No worries, the MEG crowd there are pretty good at explaining things.

Sorry I've been off the forum for a while. I have been active play testing ReG and sending feedback to Alasdair. The rules are a lot of fun to play!

Someone asked about couch surfing in Austin for Millennium. I have two spare rooms and a couch that could be occupied, if anyone from outside of Texas needs a place to crash for the weekend.

Last year, rather than a tournament we had tables devoted to pick up games and several people were there to help learn the rules and just have fun. Really no stress environment.

I don't plan to run a historical game like last year, though. That was too stressful for me. There were a couple of players who were more interested in drinking and blathering on, rather than playing the game. I'm happy to teach the game, but don't wanna worry about a historical refight. ;)

Gentleman,

Any news/updates on this, are we going have a room? If not, I'll need contact info or a Meetup time and location. I also see that rooms at the venue have sold out, anyone local have suggestions?
