When advertising important dates (tournaments etc) you can go to the calendar to create and event it will also create a post in a board of you choosing linking the two.

You cannot post then create to a calendar date. So you need to do it this way round

How do you create an event? I can see no "create event" button, tab or anything else that lets you do it.

There may be a problem, the January calendar has the "post event" button but the February and March calendar pages do not.
