Whilst there are a few rules changes in progress. Thought i would bring up something i think needs changing.
Huscarls. These IMO should form the front rank of a shieldwall. They should not be deployed with lesser troops in front of them which appears to happen a lot in games. Suggest compulsory front rank deployment.

You just don't like Sven with the big axe stepping forward and loping your horses head off

There is a general issue with mixed TuGs, some must have best troops in the front rank Knights with Men-at-arms, others are less proscriptive. Consistency would be nice or some designer notes in the lists where exceptions exist

Huscarls with 2HCC is an unusual case as they don't get a + in charge combat against mounted, but are +2 in melee. So you don't want to risk them getting killed or wounded in the charge.

This is the same as the dismounted men at arms issue.

Princeps

One could be forgiven for thinking it is a 2HCC problem then ^^

Perhaps as we are simplifying combine 2HCC and PA into one!

Wait, where is the suggestion to combine PA and 2HCC mentioned?
These are listed separately on the last version of the draft 2025 combat claims I saw.

Not by the authors.
