Okay,
Lots of questions...
Can the ex give dev charge or is it just for him?
If it's just for him, and he's only one rank, what's the point?
Does he still generate shatter for neighbouring files?
How the hell does the basing work if you have the close on 15mm and him on 20mm?
Why does he have to go in the front?
Is there any point in having him?

Well, he will certainly ensure your dice aren't possessed, and that is surely worth something. My own dice frequently show signs of demonic possession.
Miniature Wargaming is the only completely honorable form of warfare ever invented by man.

nope - just him

He shatters on a S or 💀- thus helping the files either side. No +2 for himself though
You just need to protect him on the way in from shooting
Note - he also makes the TuG liable to charge

QuoteDoes he still generate shatter for neighbouring files?
yes

why is that a problem? front rank will be aligned ?

QuoteWhy does he have to go in the front?
men often take courage from those at the back  ::)

QuoteIs there any point in having him?
colour  - not everything has to be fantastic

Seems a blast to me ...  now who does figures for that then?

Rolling Skulls in the land or Purple

Quotenow who does figures for that then

back in the day Khurusan were talking about it. Duncan Head even created an illustration , but the $1000 to create the figures to sell 3 didn't seem a viable business decision :-)

If the shaman could be to the rear I would love use that infantry...but to the front you only need to shoot at 4 MU and concentrate 3 bows and so chances are bye bye witch doctor

marshalney2000

The shaman needs to employ a pavise bearer!!
Seriously could we not treat the poor guy like a general fighting in the front rank. If the file he is in  takes a casualty then he rolls like for example a competent general. This would stop him being picked on by shooters etc.

In my Napoleonic rules we have a rule for things like manic priests, Aghas of Janissaries or whichever, shamans and whatever. They act as free floating generals taking up command pips as usual - when they are attached to a unit they count as an exceptional leader and can take over it. However they have no other influence, no "command radius" and cannot command brigades or divisions. Like generals they cannot be targeted and are only at risk when attached to a unit.
Sounds like this exorcist needs to be treated in the same way?

Lancashire games do 15mm Napoleonic/Colonial Tibetans, you might find a suitable figure in there

Strikes me as a point sink. No way will he survive long enough to keep the unit fanatic.

mad lemmey

But it allows a Catholic priest and a turning headed bed ridden girl in the unit...
