Mixed TUGS can be sometimes ..very different from each other

3323 ( NIKE BYZ ) is quite specific as there is a front rank and a rear rank both clearly defined in the desciption

4204 ( QIN ) does not go that far as it says " mixed TUG of 1/3 and 2/3

7201/02/03 murakami allies define only that there are 2 ranks . One of followers that do not shoot, one of samurai that does shoot

Now the questions :

If no "front" rank is defined in the description of the TUG, any rank may become front rank and you may even mix bases of different types ?

In the case of the Murakami you might put the followers to the front and stil shoot from there with the second or even third  rank composed of samuraï ? correct ?

If there is nothing specifying which bases must be in which rank you are obviously free to deploy them however you like.

Usually turns out that a clever idea in mixing up the bases turns out to be less than clever in practice though - but knock yourself out 8)

The only restriction mentioned is that the Samurai can only shoot in 1 rank.

Probably an argument that in any UG where there are higher status troops and "followers" then the former should be required to be in the front rank - would need notes adding to lists of course.

In our case, to diminish loses by enemy skirmishers, the Murakami player deployed the followers frist rank as they would have been targeted with white dice, same dice as for the samurai's ..so loss of one base wasno loss of firing power  :)
