The Rajput may take an internal mongol ally . That ally may command some '"local" UGs but what is funny it does not even need to take mongols to exist  funny . Now why would you take a PRO sub when all the others are instinctive I do not know but still it is worth asking

As it says may 'Mongols must be commanded by a Professional ally general who, optionally, can also command other troops from the list.'

the 'can also' would appear to define he must have at least one Mongol ug regardless as its an 'in addition to' construction.

and though sub optimal to have a professional AG you do get an increased command range
