Out of interest, what prompted the change of Joseon Best Archers (formerly Guard Archers) from Superior/skilled to Average/skilled?
I'm not aware of this army being overpowered in any particular way (in my experience it tends to crumple like wet carboard), so this downgrade is somewhat perplexing.

EDIT: Wow this post reads confrontationally in a way I did not intend. I meant to ask a question, not issue a challenge-- sincere apologies for my poor communication skills.

I read an article on Joseon army and realised the guards I based the Superior/Skilled on didn't exist until the 17th century!    In compensation, the Joseon now get cannons which they didn't previously.

Oh, interesting!

I somewhat recently read an old-ish article from the JMH that touched on Joseon military technology ("Crouching Tigers, Secret Weapons" from the January 2005 issue of JMH, if you're curious), and I've been looking for other sources to try to triangulate a bit and help me make sense of things in my head. (I don't read Korean or any Chinese languages, so raiding the JMH article's sources wasn't an option! :P)
Do you mind if I ask which article you read? I'd love to see if I can get my hands on a copy if you think it would be informative!  :)

(Also, does this mean there are plans to introduce one of the post-16th-Century iterations of the Joseon army for ReG? I vaguely remember reading about a quality roller-coaster of the system which would eventually fall flat on its face against the Qing.)
