Am sure that have read ... somewhere .... units of 9 bases take 2 KaB tests in certain situations. Can someone advise where it is in the rule book. Seeking clarification if it refers to the original unit size or the unit size at testing.

Its on the QRS in the KaB table. IIRC it is one of those things only on the QRS and not in the main rule book and will be sorted with the PDF edition.

The PDF edition will also clarify and say the test is done on the current number of bases - so any UG currently 9 or more bases will double test.
