If there was a 10000 pt competition with no army lists - pick any 10,000 pt army with troops of any quality/armour/weapons combination allowed by the army list builder - what would you pick?

I have never tried it out on paper, but I suspect my first efforts would be very, very small armies. Ideally I would find a way to make armored horse archers work against knights, and then I'd play Timurids with their powerbow restored. Could I resist making them skilled shooters? I hope so, but I have very little faith in my self-control. They would also have scads of poor tribal unskilled Javelinmen in TuGs of 4 to act as cheerleaders.

I assuming I do not soon become a competent steppe nomad general (a fair bet I suspect) I'd run an army featuring superior full-fat Knights, several units of drilled Hoplites with shove, and maybe an elephant or 2 just for flavor.
Miniature Wargaming is the only completely honorable form of warfare ever invented by man.

infantry
avg drilled, close order, protected, bow, experienced, light spear, melee expert
avg Tribal,  close order, protected, 2HCC, melee expert
sup drilled, loose, protected, impact weapon, melee expert
cav
avg drilled, loose, protected, bow, experienced, light spear

I reckon i can get about 9 6s of that lot.

Some solid and resilient line of cheap troops and some very expensive and agile drilled monsters?

Oh isn't that Jason's army??
