Feigned Flight cost

Has anyone ever used this characteristic ?

The armybuilder is stating 32 points per BASE for skirmisher cavalry?  If that is correct than I find this VERY expensive for what
you get in return.  Or is the cost per unit ?
Or am I missing something else...
Thx for your clarification.

In 2021 it was 48 pts per base.  It is expensive for what you get.  You can reduce the cost by applying it to a Poor unit.
James used it in competition last year.  I think he was the only one.
Simon might perhaps explain why he is so cautious about it that he has insisted on so high a points value.

In all the list checking I have done I have only seen 1 list where it was used. I think it will have to come down by a lot more than it has so far before people actually use it - possibly to the 15 pts a base level.

I am not sure about this characteristic.

Can't it just be subsumed into those cases where skirmishing types successfully draw their opponents out too far through skirmishing and running away with the existing (non feigned flight) mechanisms.

These things don't take much tweaking before they can shift from nobody uses it to everybody uses it.

I must confess that I don't believe the game has suffered in any way from it not being used. I wouldn't cry if it were dropped.

It is rather costly for what it is .

The effect ( or intended effect ) is to force mandatory charges for DC/CL and the like but many of them are easy to control especially if drilled or if there are not many Ugs with that characteristic . As the characteristic is coslty you do not see many of them on table so as the players knows which UG is "dangerous"  as having that characteristic he might either avoid it or engineer a good command controll .

If that characteristic becomes cheaper and there are many UGs with it, it might create the intended havoc if only by the numbers of UGs ..

And infantry is always immune to it ( if the Ug is mounted ) so no Hastings reenactement with infantry rushing after mounted breton cavalry  fleeing as a feint  ;)

Also, the rules do say that the characteristic can only be given to one UG.

As I feared, this characteristic is currently a dead letter, given its how cost and low potency.
Its effect can even be neutralized by an extra card of the enemy, unlike other characteristics.
A piety, because this was a proven historical stratagem for many armies...
So either makes it a lot cheaper or more potent ('automatic' charges?, more UGs...)
What is the great danger in 'improving' this characteristic?

typo : high cost instead of how cost :)

I have moved this discussion to a new one in Player Discussion as it has moved away from the list point to a rules discussion.
