Hi,

I don't find a clear answer in the rules or on the forum about prompting an evade move even if I have my interpretation  .

I try to explain the case: my TUG of cavalry A is shooting at a TUG of cavalry B who declare a charge, I choose to skirmish, my shooting has no effect, I throw a one on the dice, I want to pay a red card to recover the two BW to not get caught.

is it possible to prompt through fire my skirmish move even if the charger didn't shot me?

the rules say page 84 –SP2.5- 5.4.2 Generals can prompt through fire a run away or skirmish charge response.

thanks in advance for your reply.

You cannot use prompt through fire to recover a loss of move from a VMD.

Prompt though fire can only be used to recover movement from Slowing Effects and the VMD move reduction is not a slowing effect. Page 161 H4 lists the causes of slowing that can be recovered with prompt through fire - shield cover, KaB test or enemy shooting.

Correct it only removes slowing effects not the random part.
That you are stuck with.
