There are 18 mandatory bases of charca or chincha warriors, more than  the double of the mandatory 8 inca aula bases  8)

Now from my research on internet but only wikipedia and reading the armies of the 16th century on the armies of the Aztec and Inca empires, I found nothing to explain that.  It seems both people became prt of the Inca empire after 1400 , the Chincha being complete part of the empire under the reign of Tupac Yupanqui (1471-1493).  They were allies and friendly or so it seems.

I also found out that when going to war, the Incas would mobilise warriors from the neighbouring provinces,

So I would like to know why the mandatory Chincha and Charca are so numerous and why they are mandatory as it seems to me that if at least one subject tribe should be mandatory ( calling the allied privinces ) , why them and no others ?

Hy

Still no answer,

I did not found that much infos but still nothing to explain why there are 18 mandatory bases of chincha/charca before and after 1400 CE .

But it seems that the incas did indeed muster their own army + a number of "friendly subject conquered allied"  tribes

So would it not be better to have a mandatory allied nation and/or a mandatory nation as subject troops joining the army. For exemple in my idea, you need the basic inca UGs + amazonian tribes or any other subject UGs ?
not mandatory chincha/charca only

I am not an expert in South American armies and am working my way through other changes for 2022 first.  I will be reviewing the list.

Thank you

The book I read is "armies of the 16th century, vol 2 ", armies of Aztec and Inca empires, other native peoples of the americas 1450- 1608 by Ian Heath

I also checked when possible the history of the different "nations" in the army list so to try to know when they were assimilated in the Inca empire .

Frim some research, the Chincha empire was conquered in a friendly way only after 1438 CE and was incorporated completely only after 1478 CE ( sources wikipedia  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chincha_culture#Chincha_era)
The Chanka were friends of the Incas but they went to war with them in 1438 CE and lost.
The Chimu were conquered by the Incas somewhere around 1470 CE and then becomes a vassal og the Inca empire. Before they were not on friendly terms.
By the way Chimor and Chimu are the same so could be part of the same contingent ( still from internet and wikipedia )
The canari seem to be incorporated after 1470 CE, before they were enemies but the canari were incorparated as bodyguards
I found nothing relevant about the Qolla/Colla/Kolla or the Cunti  or the amazonian tribes

So having contingents of subject tribes seems right - as described in spanish texts - but mostly "late" after or around 1470 and it will depend on the region where the fight is on .

I cannot be more precise sorry but hope it helps

My general impression is that "subject people" should be used only in the EMPIRE while before there should be some possibilities for allies .
