M6 Move

When it states on on the QRF that this must be done at greater than 2 MU's from enemy does this mean that no part of the move can go within this distance or just at the start of the move. My sssumption is the former.

We played it that the contraction move had to start at 4 or more BWs but could end within 4 BWs (having moved a minimum of 2 BWs).

No part of the move may be done within 2 MU

Looks like we got it wrong then Hunter as I said at the time

Thinking back now, I seem to recall that this was introduced to stop units contracting and moving to a position where they could go into a gap and launch a flank attack in the following turn.

Yes that is why it was introduced. I still think that it actually breaks quite a few things: for instance UGs that expand in combat cannot contract again if their opponent breaks off or dies (unless of course they at least 4BW from all enemy TUGs): this can be embarrassing for troops that require to be 2 deep for shooting or to make impact or melee claims.

Like what I did ... and then got blootered by 2 cavalry TUGs!
