A couple of questions:
1. On the QRS - do BattleWagons with PoleAx get +1 against foot, or does the note in brackets mean that they can never get +1 against foot; and
2. The special rules mention that Friendly UG's can move through BattleWagons in line, is this only in the movement phase or can they charge through?

1. The note means that they can never get the claim in melee combat as they can only ever count 1 rank for fighting,

2. Passing through BWg follow the same rules as all other passing through moves.

I would just add that BWG are far from being useless against any infantry . They got the barricade bonuses and the opponent is not considered as having his bonuses as if open ground . So even a keil will face a hard time as "barricade" cancel the LS and pike bonuses . Dismounted men at arms will fare beter .

Thanks, and I fully agree they are far from useless (except when my dice rolls suck... 9 x green and yellow for zero hits), we're just seeking clarification. We did play it as per Nik's advice, as that's the conservative approach.

Just a note on this - the rules I am on about are those on pages 109 and 110 which make no reference to the phase the pass through may occur in; those on p 109 for e.g. refer to prompted actions. Don't get this confused with army list notes such as 100YW English which do specify the phase in which a pass through may happen. So pass through moves through BWg do not appear to be phase limited - with the caveat that I may well have missed something as I haven't looked too hard on this  :P

Hi Nik, thanks for the follow up clarification

Polearms represent pretty poor value for WWG's.

Just one of those things.
