Is 321 BCE a 'magic year' when one can field chariots together with Guard infantry?  Chariots are allowed until 320 BCE, and the Guard infantry are allowed 'from 321 BCE', and to a shameless opportunistic rules lawyer like myself, this looks like an aspiring Maurya emperor in that one year can have both.
There is a (faintly discernible) method to my madness. I have a unit of the Museum z-cast Maiden Guards painted up, and ab about to start painting chariots. Strictly (mostly) for the sake of pretty I'd like to get them onto the table together. Is this legal? It seems to be, but I don't quite trust myself as it seems too convenient.

Thanks
Dave

I think you misread the list. Chariots are allowed before 320 CE, not 320 BCE.  So not quite a magic year!.

321 BCE is before 320 BCE so it is still a magic year as the guard are allowed from 321 BCE.

My bad, I am sorry to have raised such a stupid question.
