A situation occured during my last game.

My Legendary Instintive General (CinC) who is 'in combat' wishes to send a command to another TUG (Not of his command) that is out of sight  (LOS blocked by trees) in order to get that TUG to move forwards . The commander of that TUG's command is awaiting to come onto the board at the end of the movement phase (Had prior been 'killed')

1) Can the CinC do this ?
2) Does line of sight inhibit the sending of a commad ?
3) How many and of what colour command cards are required, bearing in mind the CinC is in comabt ?

Any help chaps ?

Instinctive generals cannot prompt actions for troops outside of their command.

In the case you mention where a dead general has not yet been replaced actions can still be prompted but are treated as out of command and so need an extra colour card.

1) professionals only - see QRS table [as nick mentions}
2) no line of sight issues - just distance
3) if you are out of command you pay an extra card - you are always out of command if in combat except for the UG you are with.

During the "Monchaux" tournament we had the case of an instinctive general who had lost it's command. it joined another unit and used cards to discard and so win time. The general fought to the front, died . No KAB as he is not in command. Came back, and once again joined another unit, died ..no KAB ..

I did not care and let my opponent do it, but beware it is possible to do so . Feels cheesy ..yes, but allowed .

I Must confess I committed that against jacques   ;)
xiung nu ally general joined a nearby chinese cav ... both armies ended 1TUG from exhaustion.

historically in some cases that would make sense when the allies are in good enough terms . In other ccases when the so called ally is reluctant this may not be ... worth a note in the Army Lists list when you know this would or would not happen .

to date asSimon stated elsewhere " this may be the last action of a general who has lost all his troops" ... and indeed the second time it was ... 8)

Seems reasonable as we don't really include the truly unreliable armies in our competition system.
Hesitant but bot truly unreliable.
