Britcon 2025 - New Venue, New Dates

The BHGS have informed that due to circumstances beyond their control Britcon is moving home and that this means that for 2025 only the event will be held on a different weekend to normal.



The BHGS will be giving more details ASAP, however, here is preliminary info on the new venue and dates to allow people to plan ahead as soon aspossible.

Britcon will now be held in "The Venue@DMU", Leicester De Montfort University's dedicated event facility. So the same part of the country, just Leicester instead of Nottingham. The address is: 20 Western Boulevard, Leicester, LE2 7BU

In respect of the dates:

"For 2025, one final consequence of us having to find a new venue at relatively short notice is that the dates for Britcon have ended up being a little later in the year than usual, and will see us running over the weekend of 22-23-24 August next year.

From 2026 we will however be back again in our traditional "second weekend in August" slot and we now have a rolling reservation at The Venue@DMU for that same weekend going forward."

For those concerned about "on site" accommodation - "a deal already in place with the nearby Holiday Inn Express starting at just £81 BnB for a "proper" hotel room & breakfast" - with work going on to look at other options as well.
