Hi!
As my friend explore rulebook with fresh eye we found this question.
If someones charge path lies in 1 BW forward of other charging/intercepting/countercharging unit - can that unit shoot?
I'm completely sure that can't, but struggle with finding clarification. Shooting section of rulebook says that chargers can't shoot in shooting phase, but for charging phase it forwards to charging section and M1 says only
QuoteFiles can shoot at chargers if the path of charge passes within 1BW and ahead of them, as shown in the example below. This is defined before shooting as the UGs being charged have already declared their responses. Shooters can also fire at enemy countercharging or intercepting that have come within 1BW

Troops that counter-charged or intercepted may not shoot (see clarifications).
Troops that charge can only shoot if they have charge-only or shoot & charge characteristic.  They shoot when the charge is declared (5:J page 62 PDF).
Other troops can shoot if the charge path is within 1BW ahead.  (5:M page 69 PDF).  The diagram is pretty clear.
Follow the turn sequence (1:C page 24).

I can't find it in clarification on website, it was lost during updates or I'm just can't find it, can you point me to page/bullet?

Follow the turn sequence (1:C page 24).

Turn sequence tells me nothing about who can shoot, if I'm reading properly and not missed obvious bullet.

Other points are clear, thanks.

Hy

I'll try to clarify it but first know that I use the latest version of the rules or the Lulu printed version and the PDF version

I think the clarification about "shoot&charge" + "charge only" are meant to be the characteristics explanations at the end of the book . Please read pg 125 appendix 1.L : shoot and charge, bullet 4 : Shoot&charge cannot be used with a countercharge or intercept which are deem to be a hurried response not allowing the time for their normal prepared charge to be carried out

Also I will point out that a TUG being charged may also declare a charge on the charger and so could shoot & charge as well  :)  being charged does not prevent you of declaring a charge.

I hope it helps
