Roll Call 2023 – something a bit different?
« on: September 08, 2022, 12:24:35 PM »
OK, we’re a long way away from this as it will presumably be run in April 2023, however, we’re looking at doing something a bit different this year and so want to see who may be interested.

To go along with the road map for the future of MeG announced by Simon recently - https://mortem-et-gloriam.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=2593.0 – we are thinking of running PACTO and/or MAGNA at Roll Call next year to raise the profile of those game sizes and give those who play them some competition time. There are loads of Maximus sized competitions, time to give the other game sizes some love.

However, we are unsure of the numbers of players who may be interested in this or of the format they would prefer to play. Therefore, we’re reaching out to you all to get expressions of interest and an indication of a format that would attract you.

Some possible ideas are:

•   Traditional 2 day competition format – PACTO and/or MAGNA; both could be run if the demand is there.
•   A 1 day format running PACTO one day and MAGNA the other.
•   A 1 day format but running PACTO and MAGNA each day.
•   Something else we haven’t thought of.

If you are interested (no commitment implied) or have any suggestions as to the format, please get in contact – nikgaukroger@blueyonder.co.uk

Please pass on to anyone you think may be interested. We are often focused on the existing competition player base and so don’t necessarily know who may be interested in something a bit different from the usual competition format.

N.B. the dates for Roll Call are not yet available, but we will publish details as soon as the BHGS tell us what they are.
