The first round was generated by a computer program with 3 different pools so it is completely random except that UK does not meet UK and so on. It will be so on the first day .

I'd concur with Si on this - variety of lists is a good thing.

Agreed variety is part of the spices of the game, participants are welcome to voluntarily discuss with organiser beforehand . 

I proposed : Later eastern Romans, Seldjuk Turks, and Vikings ( my usual sparring partner type training stuff ) as it happened my friends were kind enough to supply me with their prototype lists, Romans for Fabien, Seldjuks for Fred .... only Vikings remains , so
Ragnar'sons will be there  post 900 CE ...
