As this has been ruled differently in the past I would like to have an official clarification of the following :

Suppose 3 bases A B C fighting in front with shove or shatter capabilities.
A and B are facing enemies while C is supporting.

If C creates a shove/shatter (rolling S or Skull) as a supporting file/overlap, does A benefits from the
shatter/shove created by the combat of B, supported by C ?

Thx

just noticed this new 'clarification' :
WHAT IS THE DEFINITION OF "FIGHTING"? Fighting = a file rolling combat dice. NB as supporting files do not
roll dice themselves, but add dice to the fighting file this means that supporting files are "engaged" but not
"fighting";
So it appears that shove causes by C does count - as it is B who was fighting...

Thx for confirmation.

The concept is that Supporting Files add dice to the file in combat.

Note also that it works the other way around as well.  If A causes a shatter, C gets the benefit of the shatter as page 146 talks about working out the claims as if it was in the position of the base it is supporting.

See, I did know what I was talking about  ;)

The thing is to not think of the supporting file as causing anything, only the fighting file.

OK, I have sort of the opposite question:

A's opponent scores a  shove in melee.
Does C (the supporting file)'s dice take into account the +1 for b's opponent?

Looks as though the answer is yes.
