The usual post comp questions.

The cavalry charged the infantry frontally. The elephants contacted them in a flank charge.

When the infantry turn bases to fight the elephants, do the elephants have to align (2nd photo)?  p89 has an example of a Gallic unit shifting to stay aligned, but doesn't say it is compulsory. p.81 says aligning is never compulsory. So the elephants can stay where they are?

If the elephant doesn't align (3rd photo) then does the infantry player decide which bases fight, as p. 83 says "6.1 A file only fights once with its front edge or rear edge. So if two files are in contact with it then the player with the two files chooses which one to fight with". Or can the elephant continue to fight the flank of the front base, as 6.1 only refers to frontal or rear contacts, and the infantry player can choose which of his files fight frontally against the top elephant?

Thanks,

Craig

you never have to align...you consider the bases having aligned. aligning is optional

pic 3 is correct :

the elephant can fight the frontal base and the cav too

a base can be attacked twice but can only defend once

Turn is correct.

Ellies can align but do not have to ... as Jilu said its never compulsory but often easiest.

But the ellies will both fight a base facing them.

If you have one base in contact with 2 bases the person with 2 gets to choose which fights.[/li][/list]
