I am looking at the viking list and I have a question.
1. what is the term regrade  before 900CE refers too? I see the different stats for combat, but still can you explain. i went to a public school
2. Huscarls are infantry , but under optional, it states that they are dismountable. does that mean they cam be mounted as cavalry?
3. Hirds and Huscarls appear to mean the same thing in dictionary , both refer to household guard, personal guards. what is the difference in this game.

thanks for any answers.

1 The regrade is from formed flexible to formed close; so they can no longer wander around in terrain without penalties.

2 As I understand it, they are not cavalry. But the option to become mounted infantry, so move faster.

3 Hirds are your average Viking, Huscarls are the superior troops tending to be personal retinue for leader or similiar.

For a definition of foot shown as discountable is shown in the classifications section of the rules. Very self explanatory.

Maybe I'll motivated to paint Normans or Saxons now.

Cyclone Ranger

Will, good idea. Just got my Vikings from Europe today.

WillR

Sure. Its going to have to wait until sometime in late Fall after we get into our new place. Right now I  only have one European Dark Age Age army, the Nikephorian
Byzantines.

Vikings are a fun army indeed.
