Passing Through (or interpenetration)
« on: January 14, 2019, 08:08:18 PM »
Love this bit of the book...

My understanding is that most interpens are NOT allowed.
But, the ones listed in the section are which includes most evades, passing through foot SUGs etc.

Therefore, I cannot choose to move a unit of cavalry through another unit of cavalry during movement.
But the front unit can charge-evade, pass through the rear unit (KAB tests) and keep going.

And I can never pass my cavalry in movement through a unit of foot (not listed in the section)
but I could force-charge through a unit of foot (KAB) and potentially if evade capable they could evade through other units (KAB)

Does that sound about right?

There is a difference between a prompted actionand anoutcome move

Pg 65 and 66

So what you describe seem all be outcome moves ( not controlled ) and yes it seems correct.

Just that a forced charge that goes trough a SUG simply destroys the SUG . There is no KAB .

Yes correct that you can't do it much at all as a controlled move.

Light foot really.

The rest are outcome moves and generally cuase KaBs or worse to one or both parties.

Yep sounds fine. It is rather (despite quite a few games now) a difficult part of the rules to get in head. I've seen it played maaaany different ways in competition, and depending on the cycle of the moon ;0

I *think* I have it now.
