Number of allies

A might be stupid question but well.
When a list got a ally available, how many time could we take this ally?

Only once right?

You can't have twice a nomade ally, correct?

You can only take an ally once except where the list explicitly states otherwise (for example: a Thracian lowland C-in-C could take three Thracian Hill Tribe allies).
