Mixing General Training

If your army list says just "any" for professional or instinctive (ie not 'any Professional', just Any) may one choose to have both? I suspect this query is answered on here somewhere, but failed to find it.

For example in a recent Middle Sassanid list ('any' for CiC and 3 subs) I used a Professional Talented CiC, 2x Instinctive Competent subs and a Professional Mediocre sub. It seemed to work well doing what I wanted it to, but I worry because a knowledgeable friend asked me if I was quite certain it was legal. I responded that I assumed 'any' meant 'any', but I like the list and wish to be more confident. Is this OK?

Yes you can mix them.   Note that a professional army commander cannot gift cards to an instinctive sub-general.

But can still prompt an action in a sub-general's command with the usual additional colour card.

There are also PBS & Scouting advantages to a Professional army commander in an army with otherwise Instinctive generals.

It seems any professional general can prompt an action by any non-allied UGs. pdf 2.B.9
