Wondering if these should be 9 bases in order that they are larger than other pike units. Think it would feel right.

I am concerned it would make them too resilient.  I think it needs a bit of playtesting.

No.  (Not that I am against the idea, just haven't had any opportunity to playtest).

No problems Richard. While I was considering a 28mm Swiss Magna army project, I noted that I could have five keils of six when three keils of nine would seem more historical. What you would gain in resilience and historical accuracy, you would lose in flexibility and TuG numbers.
