Some questions from recent games:

1) Is there a limit on how many pursuit moves a unit can make in a charge phase? A unit in a recent game did a flank charge onto another unit and ended up doing 3 pursuit moves as it broke each unit it hit in that charge phase.

2) In a skirmish/run away response to being charged if you turn 90 degrees to match the opponents charge do you lose any movement? (in particular, do you lose 1 DU for each file width before the turn).

3) something that I have never really been clear on- when a unit is out of command it says on the QRS that you need to play a cumulative colour boost card - green, yellow, red. Does this mean that the first order given to a unit out of command needs an extra green card, does the next order given then need a yellow card extra irrespective of if the order goes to a different unit or to the same unit? Similarly, is it a 3rd order to the same unit that needs a red card boost or the 3rd order to any unit out of command that needs the red card boost

1)  No limit.

2)  No. The turn as part of the skirmish or run-away move is "free" (though the rules could make that clearer).

3) No. When a unit is out of command it just needs any colour card in addition to the card used to issue the order. 9.3B7 (p64)   I agree that the use of the word cumulative here is confusing.  Additional might be a better way of putting it...

Hope that helps.

That one confused me to begin with as well  :P

I'd better find and fix that cumulative in vs 2.
Certainly meant additional.

I seem to use "additional"?
Where is this cumulative ... if on QRS it refers to "out of command" additional card being cumulative with say "block".

It is the QRS which causes the confusion.

Simon Meg-Meister

Ah I see.

The cumulative there is correct however, as it out of command and block moves ...
Should insert "block moves" after "out of command" in left column empty line perhaps and leave Block move "how" on the left.
So a block move and out of command is +2 colour cards.

Yeah an opponent and I had very different opinions in a game at CanCon on this and it wasn't clear. In the end I let him have his interpretation and took the 2 BW penalty and lost my skirmishers, but I didn't want to bog the game down further. Glad someone else has had the same confusion and thought to ask. Good to have it clarified!
