Still suffering from concentration problems

The assyrian chariots are DC. They could charge the flank of the byzantine skutatoi but the right sided file would be bloked by the friendly infantry that is facing the tagmata .

I know I am mixing things with older discussions and could no be sure of the answers in the current rules . but Covid 19 has done strange things to my memory and sometimes still struggling .

If the chariots do charge how to resolve movement ?

Suspect the answer could depend on whether this is a Forced Charge or not as forced chargers burst through friends.

Also can the left file contact the enemy before the right hand file contacts friends?

yes by a very narrow margin the left hand file would have hit the infantry first.

But there is the pushing forward

Now what would happen if the assyrian infantry was already in melee

nikgaukroger

Well you only press forward if you can contact enemy, if you can't you don't. If a forced charge you may be forced to burst through with a press forward I guess, hence my asking about that, but I think in general it is unlikely as you only press forward 1 BW.

So My guess is we did it right . I was first to charge so went for the skutatoi flank .

But what would have happened , as the chariots are DC ) the mounted tagmata are in range to be charged by the chariots but the red assyrian infantry is already in melee with the tagmata( by the way those assyrians did win ..got a few lucky dice )  .
