Paeonians

The Paeonians list has the warriors as Formed Loose, Prot, Avg, Exp-Javs : no impact or melee capability.  My understanding is that Paeonians were similar to (or were) Thracians - should they be armed with short spear ?

They were situated between the Thracians and Illyrians and were probably pretty similar to both. The classification is to give them a bit of character.  If you want a Thracian army, pick a Thracian army...

Not after Thracians - was/am looking at Paeonians as an ally.  Surprised by classification that's all.

It's been said before, just having a spear doesn't make you a spearmen in the lists.
