If we have some relative novices planning to play it might be better to extend the time to 3 hours.

I think I was on 29 points not 26: 6-2/15-0/8-2 but of no matter really.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself with 8 games over the 3 days including 6 Triumphs! No wonder I enjoyed myself  ;D
It was good to meet up with old friends and meet some new ones.
Look forward to Simon's big push next year.
Take care

You’re right Steve you did have 29 points. I wanted to thank you for all the awesome work you did with the new players in particular with my beautiful new wife Patti. Up to this point she had played four games with me . And was very nervous about playing anybody else.  She learned a lot with the game with you. She is now ready to try the full 10,000 games. Thank you again 8).

One of the big highlights of my trip. Was my game with Phil at 10,000.28 mm game on 8 x 5 board. Matanni vs Sassanid Persians elephants and Cataphracts  oh my. I figured if I shot enough with skill bows and slowed them down with the death of many bronze age bodies I might hang on for a victory . Came down to the last die roll With my legendary commander joining the fight. I was  wound away from losing I thought it was going to be a mutual break. It was the definite highlight of my trip. Thank you Phil for awesome game that looked tremendous I’ll post up some pictures later today.

I, too, had fun getting my head handed to me repeatedly. My poor Carthaginians plainly suffered from a commander with no idea what to do with them! Next year, maybe. I have seldom enjoyed thrashings more.

On the bright side, I loaned out my Burmese to Phil so he could play 15’s, and he did well with them. Also, I bought a painted Sarmatian army at the con on a whim (not a great army, but a very romantic history and very colorful) and Dale was kind enough to give me a Magna friendly against his Byzantines. Fun game! These guys are going to be a ‘go-to’ army for me on club days when I don’t feel like actually thinking and just want to charge home and roll some dice.

Thanks to Dave, Dale, Stephen and Phil for allowing me to sit in and observe the games on Saturday games.  I played in 2 ADLG tourneys on Thursday and Friday, but wanted to see MeG played.  Stephen was particularly gracious with his explanations and insights.  I was excited to see how it played.  Hard to learn on your own, even though it seems somewhat intuitive.  Our local gaming group KC metro area] is really splintered into DBA, SAGA, Star Wars, and other non-historical gaming.  We had a large group of Warrior [WRG 7th plus] players, but, they went into Flames of War, and other things.  Alas, not much ancient gaming, and those that are tend to want to play shorter and simpler games [DBA, SAGA].  Hopefully, I can entice 1 or 2 guys to start the learning curve together and maybe that will attract others.
