Shatter / Shove for claims of 0

Hello,

A question about Devastating Chargers:

If I have an infantry unit with devastating chargers fighting against a unit with Charging Lancer, my bonus is 0. This is clear.
My question is, if I roll an S, do I still get Shatter or not ? As I understand it, it's just a 0 claim, but I should get shatter.

And generally, does a claim of 0 negate Shatter/Shove as well ? I am sure there are other similar situations.

Hello,

If you have a weapon that would give you Shatter (DC, CL or MPa), you get it even if the claim is reduced to 0 (for example foot DC vs Charging Lancer) or if the claim is cancelled (for example Charging Lancers vs standing to receive Long Spear).

A shatter is only cancelled if it is specifically written, so as far as I remember by Elephants or Shieldwall.

In addition to elephants and shieldwall, you cannot claim a shatter if you are not fighting to your front.  But having no claims doesn't prevent you having a shatter.
