Hi Guys

What would be the correct basing group for a Macedonian Phalanx please?

I have 24 bases with 4 figs per base.

I'm guessing 2 wide 4 deep per block?

what version are you playing?
what i do for pikes in all my 8 or 12 bases pike tugs for Maximus is : two 4cm by 4 cm bases and four bases 4cm by 2 cm.

the 4by4 are the frontranks

If you play maximus, "common" pikes are 8 bases so usually deployed 2 wide and 4 deep but you may use them 3 wide or even 4 wide or even 8 wide . But to benefit from the full power of your phalanx 2 wide and 4 deep is the common manner.

If facing a full mounted opponent, 4 wide and 2 deep is enough .

I'd go for three deeo personally as it lengthens the main battle line.
