Good Evening. As the above subject tag states, Can one break a Block back into separate TuGs voluntarily? I understand one can do this by a simple 900 turn. Is it up to the player or once in a block the TuGs must stay in this formation?
In my last game, I had three (3) TuGs of phalangites in a block. They charged a smaller two (2) block of Carthaginian infantry with a Tug of Iberian infantry in support. The Iberians and one Tug of Carthaginians broke. Can the block be broken to pursue as per the rules, or must the block stay together?

Princeps

Hello,

A block is only a grouping of adjacent units for movement/charge purposes, nothing more. It exists only in this context, and as long as coherence is maintained. In no case are units obligated to stay within a group they were part of at some point.

Therefore, any UG (whether TUG or SUG) is free to leave the group by moving or charging on its own, and if a pursuit separates it (because of mandatatory move or if pursuit is not held back), then so be it.

Hope this helps.

Best,
Antoine

Thank you Antoine for your prompt reply. I thought that was the case. Being new to the rule system, I want to know my family are playing right.
Respectfully,
Peter.
