Simons Boot Camp and Grass Roots growth - Jan 8th at Battlefield Hobbies

Whether your faith has you celebrating Xmas or not, as we hit the holiday period may I wish all Meggers a fanstastic break with families and friends, I hope to see many of you in the New Year, Covid permitting.  We live in unprecendented times and this virus is the challenge of our generation. I am sure we will beat it next year. 

Next year I am going to run 6 boot camps through the year at major games stores around the company.  These are 1 day events where I will have Mortem et Gloriam Pacto and Divisions of Steel set up. We will have an easy going little Mortem et Gloriam Pacto event with helpers and I can have 6 people playing DoS. 

It is for new players or anyone interested to learn about the rules to come along and have a go with me.  The first of these is on January 8th at Battlefield Hobbies.  There are 14 sapces for new players at £10 each including lunch, and in addition a £6 lunch only package for expereinced helpers to come along and enjoy the day.  Encourage yoru friends and if you are in range to come along and assist do join me.  Here is the link from the BH website.

I am also going to try to drop in to local club nights. I am gathering information on when people meet up and will try to visit when i am in the vicinity. In the past I managed to get to MAWS, East Warrington and Preston while up North seeing mum and Dad.  I drive through the midlans and the South East reuglarly. I'll do more of this now back inthe UK with a home in Droitwich Spa.

The big job for us all now is to grow the community.  The rules will remain stable for at least 5 years.  Although there have been a few changes to lists as RJC and team continue to refine them and points, we have very little change going on when you think about the mass of over 650 lists the team has created - an incredible achievement. So really now we just need to enjoy it, promote it and grow it.

So I would like to set everyone a challenge ... in 2022 at least once a quarter take the game to some local club and share it with others ... and each of us aim to encourage at least 1 new player in 2022 .... and encourage them to join of friendly events.  If we all do that we can double the player base!
