Classical Indian Magna list (PERSIA, IRAN AND INDIA PDF list 2022)

The list notes says "Foot TUGs may combine 1/3 spearmen with 2/3 archers in a unit of 6" this would be 3 ranks deep which is not allowed in Magna unless horde types or Pike.

In Magna shouldn't this become " Foot TUGs may combine 1/2 spearmen with 1/2 archers in a unit of 6 with the front rank becoming experienced bow."

I note that is Simon's Magna PDF of 2018 has his Indian army with 50/50 spear/bow TuGs in two ranks with front rank armed with bow.

In respect of the Indian formations I think the bit in the rules on page 38 applies:

"TUGs in mixed formations with 2 ranks of shooters behind others become 2 ranks deep with the shooting weapon and skill added to the front rank."

Sorry Richard its does not say hordes but the original Magna PDF's did say all except Pike are 2 deep and says it at least 3 times.
Was there a rethink and change for the Compendium to allow 3 ranks deep in Magna?

Think Geoff has confused the Pacto bit with Magna.

The Horde bit yes :-( but not the Pike
When we played a lot of Magna online during lock down (Pre Compendium) it was all 2 rank bar Pike.
