Anglo Norman List (Professional Flemish General)

Just checking Anglo Normans. King Stephen hired Flemish Mercenaries which were already living in England. The general has to be Professional. I assume the commander of the Flemish mercenaries was William of Ypres, whom was a supporter of King Stephen. Is the professional status correct ? If so Just wondering what benefit having a single professional general in an Instinctive army is ? It costs an extra 150 points. Is there a benefit ? Would make life and points a lot easier if he was instinctive. Or even compulsory talented IMO.

The benefit is getting troops that the army otherwise wouldn't ordinarily get without the risk of being Hesitant that their being an ally would have.

Think of them as being an automatically reliable ally 

IIRC we did touch on this when we looked at the points for generals earlier this year but decided not to make any changes. Time may have been a factor.

Also he gets a Command Radius of 10 BW and can command troops outside his command with two cards (useful if he gets most of his men killed!)

Indeed - I'd managed to forget that one, a really useful option at times

Ummm says in the list he can only command Flemish troops !!!

That means what can be in his command. The "commanding" of troops outside of his command is actually prompting actions if we want to get technical
