Brighton was a Classical theme and I decided to take Lycian.  For those who don't know, Lycia was a partially hellenised people living in south-west Turkey.
My army consisted of
2 x 4 Nobles, Cavalry, Formed Loose, Protected, Average, Short Spear, Unskilled Javelin, Shoot & Charge  - Mainly to work around flanks or use as a reserve.
6 x 8 Warriors - Imitation hoplites Infantry, Tribal Close, Protected, Average, Long Spear  - Guys to stand up to cavalry
3 x 8 Warriors - Infantry, Tribal Loose Protected, Average, Short Spear, Unskilled Javelin, Shoot & Charge  - Guys to use in terrain.
2 x 6 Warriors with Drepanon - Infantry, Tribal Loose, Protected, Average, Devastating Chargers, Melee Expert - To support the warriors.
2 x 6 Archers - Infantry, Skirmisher, Unprotected, Experienced Bow, Combat Shy - Turned out quite useful at shooting cavalry.
Flexible Poor Camp,  2 x Talented, 1 x Competent, 1 x Mediocre Generals.  Only 5 PBS and 2 Scouting Cards, but with 15 UGs, quite often was able to deploy some UGs after my opponent, even when outscouted.

My first two games were against Romans; Late Republican and Early Imperial.  The former had a Numidian ally, but were otherwise similar with Exceptional and Superior legionaries.
In both cases, I had nothing that could fight the better Romans so just had to keep them occupied whilst I attacked the weaker Roman units.  In both cases I managed to sack their fortified camps as well.

My third game was against an Alexandrian Expeditionary army.  I have yet to figure out how I beat this army.  The Agema and Companions went through my Long Spear guys like a knife through butter which makes me think my opponent should have been more aggressive.  In the end he ran out of time and it was a 9 - 3 score.  All I had managed to break was one SuG and that was fighting it on a mountain and took 2 TuGs to do that!

My final game was against Galatians.  A proper match up.  It was a bit of an odd game as I was trying to work around my opponents flank.  I basically lost where I thought I should win (Superior Short Spear cavalry went through my Long Spear like Agema and Companions!) and I won where I thought I would lose, against my opponents feared warriors (I am glad someone else can throw yellow and red dice and come up with blanks!).

Finished 4th with 48 pts.  Quite pleased with that result for an army with nothing but average, mostly tribal, troops.

Good to see a large average army doing well Richard.
Especially faced with Romans and Galatians who are frontally tough to beat.
I have yet to face this Expeditionary monster of Jasons.
Sounds fun and something of an experience.
