using the army builder

Very basic question i'm afraid from a very new player (just bought ther compendium, have armies but never played a game).  my computer doesn't have xcel so i can't use the army builder, buying xcel can be expensive.  does anyone know what the best free downlaod is to get the army builder to run?

I use OfficeLibre (freeware) and it will happily run the army builder.
